Julian Carlyle Patterson
April 20, 1923 ~ July 4, 1967
Julian Carlyle Patterson, passed away July 4,1967 after a long battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Carlyle, was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Many weekends were spent on the lake boating with family and making many enjoyable memories.
Carlyle, served in the United States Navy, where he was stationed in Key West, Florida. Upon returning to North Carolina after serving time for his country, he owned and ran Patterson’s Body Shop in Rocky Mount. Later in years, the business remained in the family and his son’s Jim, and Phil continued the Legacy of an upstanding Body Shop in the Community.
Carlyle, was a strong, and very well known man to many who knew him, he had several brothers, nieces and nephews. A dad, that was always there in early years to lend a helping hand and teach his sons about autobody work. He had three sons, and a daughter: Jim, Bill, Phil and Peggy. He was married to the love of his life Yvonne.
On July 4,1967 after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s, he passed away. At the time of his passing, not too much was known of this disease. Carlyle, was 44 years of age.
