Joyce Privette Strickland

Joyce Privette Strickland, 85, passed away, Friday, January 1, 2010. She was born December 31, 1925 in Caney Ridge, Kentucky. Joyce loved her family, church, cooking and music. Her biggest joy wad her grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 12 years, Bob Strickland, three sons, Phil Privette and wife Barbara of Suffolk, VA, Andy Privette and wife Karen of Michigan, Jerry Privette and wife Beth of Castalia, three daughters, Joan Tharrington and husband Richard of Castalia, Wanda Parrish and husband Frank of Carralton, VA, Tammy Turner and husband Benji of Castalia, one sister, Doris Long of Rocky Mount, 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday, January 4, 2010 in the Chapel of Fellowship Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Phil Privette officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
