John David Pitts, 77, died Monday. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Johnson Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Ray Eberton, the Rev. Kenneth Johnson and the Rev. Dennis Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
Surviving: wife, Mrs. Virginia Taylor Pitts; one son, Keith Pitts of Route 3, Nashville; one sister, Mrs. Pauline Strickland of Macclesfield; one brother, Needham Pitts of Route 1, Spring Hope; two grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and other times at the home, Route 2, Nashville.
