Mr. Jimmy Thomas Parker

Rocky Mount – Jimmy Thomas Parker, Sr., age 88, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025.  Born in Johnston County, NC on June 25, 1937, he was the son of the late Walter Glen “W.G.” Parker, Sr. and Eva Mae Pope Parker.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Anne Lane Parker; his grandson, Michael Parker; his sister, Joyce Parker Proctor; and his brothers, Oliver “Ray” Parker, Roger Glen Parker, and Donald Pope Parker.

Self-employed for most of his life, Jimmy owned and operated Jimmy T. Parker, Inc trucking and transportation company.  A dedicated and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and good friend to many, Jimmy will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Jimmy is survived by his sons, Jimmy Thomas “Tommy” Parker, Jr. (Teresa), Walter Glen Parker (Theresa), Donald Ray Parker (Fran), Richard Lawrence Parker (Kathy), and Robert Martin Parker (Corrye); his ten grandchildren; his fourteen great-grandchildren; his sister, Velma Parker Knight; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and good friends.

A Graveside Service to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Blvd., Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with Rev. Larry Kirby officiating.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
