Jesse Radford, Jr.

ROCKY MOUNT – Jesse Radford, Jr., age 88, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Born in Nash County, NC on January 23, 1934, he was the son of the late Jesse Radford, Sr. and Lucy Lillian Burnette Radford. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Wall Radford.

Jesse was in the US Army during the Korean War. He went on to serve Stoney Creek Fire and Rescue for over 30 years. Jesse was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him, but his loving spirit will never be forgotten as he was everything to his family.

Jesse is survived by his son, Jesse Mark Radford (Denise) of Hillsville, VA; his grandchildren, J.D. Radford (Jesse), Stephen Radford, and Hannah Banana (Danny); his great-grandson, Anthony Radford; special friends, Margie Jean Williams and family; and a very special canine companion, Scooter.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Jesse’s life will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Raleigh Thomas Mowbray officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
