Janie Bulluck Davis

Janie Bulluck Davis, age 76, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on November 11, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Lee Timothy Bulluck and Betty Elizabeth Adams Bulluck. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Henry Lee Bulluck and James Jackson.

Janie was a long-time member of Avalon Baptist Church and loved her church family, and her many friends while she enjoyed singing in the choir. She touched the lives of so many people and will always be remembered with love and kindness. Janie had a great love for her dogs and was a big fan and collector of Elvis and Betty Boop. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Janie is survived by her son, Ricky B. Smith, Sr. and his wife, Jackie, of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Ricky B. Smith, Jr. and Tammy Michelle Smith both of Rocky Mount; her great grandchild, Maddison Leigh Brunett; her brothers, Joe Jackson of Rocky Mount and Mark Jackson of Wilmington, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Janie’s Life will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Joe Price officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Garden Mausoleum. A visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Janie’s memory to Avalon Baptist Church, 3227 Old Battleboro Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27801.
