Jane Andrews Powell

ROCKY MOUNT – Jane Andrews Powell, age 89, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on May 30, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Harry Wells Andrews and Amelia Swain Andrews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Capt. Jerry Powell; and brother, Harry Andrews, Jr.

Jane leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband, Edward Joyner Powell, Sr.; sons, Edward Joyner Powell, Jr. and wife, Sue, of Hurdle Mills; Steve Powell and wife, Wanda, of Rocky Mount; Jerry’s wife, daughter-in-law, Debbie Powell of Rocky Mount; Craig Powell and wife, Ellis, of Red Oak; and daughter, Martha Powell Moose of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Andrews of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Englewood United Methodist Church, 300 S. Circle Drive, Rocky Mount with the Rev. Terry Williams officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service.
