James Larry Shearin

James Larry Shearin, 68, went Home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 surrounded by his loving family and his wife at his side. Larry was born on June 21, 1948 in Nash County, NC to the late Walter Edward Shearin and Katie Hamlet Shearin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gorham Shearin and Floyd Shearin.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Frances Bass Shearin of the home; his children Carla Tess Johnson of Rocky Mount, NC, Tammy Louise Shearin of Mebane, NC, and Jimmy Edward Shearin of Elm City, NC; sisters Debbie Arnold (Phil) of Red Oak, NC, Sue Crickmore of Castalia, NC, Charlotte Keen (Richard) of Dortches, NC; brothers Samuel Shearin of Sharpsburg, NC, Troy Shearin (Ann) of Conway, SC, Roger Shearin (Sandra) of Cary, NC; grandchildren Thomas Francione, Brian Francione, and Ellington Francione of Needham, MA, Lauren Caviness and Kimberly Caviness of Snow Camp, NC; a special sister-in-law Judy Bass Turner of Rocky Mount, NC and several nieces and nephews.
Larry was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, NC. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 6:00pm-8:00pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Reverend Brandon Dees officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
