J.C. Melvin

November 7, 1935 ~ July 31, 2018
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” Matthew 28:19
JC Melvin departed this life for his forever home in Heaven on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 after a brief illness. Born in Roseboro, NC to the late Jeff Miller and Lucille Tatum Melvin, JC received his high school education from Bladen Central High School and his undergraduate degree in Missions from Washington Bible College in Lanham, MD.
JC joined the Marine Corp in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1962. He was employed as a 1st class engineer for over 20 years at the George Washington University and Hospital for over 20 years.
JC committed his life to Christ in October 1976 after hearing that Christ died for his sins, was buried, and rose from the grave never to die again. At that moment he confessed he was a sinner and asked Christ to come into his life and save him. As a result of his born again experience he became an avid soul winner for Christ. Rev. JC Melvin was ordained to preach the Gospel in 1983. His favorite method of winning souls was street evangelism. Telling people how much Jesus Christ loved them was his passion.
