Ishmael Earl Ricks

Ishmael Earl Ricks, 77, died Feb. 1, 1998. He was born Aug. 2, 1920, son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Mary Rebecca Woodruff Ricks. He was a member of First Christian Church of Rocky Mount. 1 Surviving: wife, Dartha Midgette Ricks of the home; sons, William Douglas “Rusty” Ricks of Cary, James O’Neal Ricks of Enfield; daughter, Robyn Ann Rose of Mayodan; brother, Ivan Glenwood Ricks of Rocky Mount; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin Walter Ricks and Joseph Alvin Ricks. Funeral” services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, at First Christian Church, 1101 West Haven Blvd., with the Rev. Torrie Osgood officiating. Entombment will follow in Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home, Sunset Avenue.
