Henry B Roberson

family on Friday, June 28, 2013. Henry was born August 8, 1935 at his family home in the Farm Life Community of Williamston, NC to Oscar Benjamin and Naomi Hardison Roberson. Being raised on a farm gave Henry the appreciation of hard work and helping others. Henry had an incredible engineering mind that proved him well as an Insurance Adjuster for 40 years with Nationwide Insurance and Southeastern Adjustment Company. Anyone who knew him well knew that Henry always had a project going on whether it be for his church, his friends or his family. He was always there when called upon to help.

After graduation from Williamston High School he enlisted in the Army and spent two years in Alaska. In 1958 Henry married Janice Davis from Jamesville NC and began their family in Williamston. In 1966 he and his family moved to Shelby, NC and returned back to eastern NC in 1969 to Rocky Mount.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Lois Roberson Hodges and brother-in-law John Manning Hodges.

Surviving Henry are his wife of 55 years Janice Davis Roberson, son H. Ben Roberson, Jr and wife Valerie Winslow Roberson of Rocky Mount, daughter Jane Roberson Berry and husband Thomas Harrison Berry of Waynesboro, VA. Grandchildren; Thomas Chet Berry, Olivia Winslow Roberson, Chance MacFarlane Berry and Ann Claire Roberson. Also surviving him are niece Sarah Brown Hodges of Bear Grass, NC, nephew John M. Hodges, Jr wife Katherine and son Taylor of Garner, NC, Danny Griffin, Perry and Betty Davis, Fannie Lou Hardison and a loving and extended family in eastern North Carolina.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, July 1, 2013 at Englewood United Methodist Church where he was an active member for over 40 years. Visitation will follow the service. A special thank you to the Rocky Mount Kidney Center and Hospice Care of Nash General Hospital.
