Gloria W. Hemmerle

ROCKY MOUNT – Gloria Hemmerle, age 94, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Born in Nash County, NC on October 8, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Walter D. Wiggins and Annie Mae Winstead Wiggins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Hemmerle; son, Richard Len Hemmerle; brothers, Paul Wiggins, Joseph Wiggins, and John Wiggins; and sisters, Mary Stevens, Catherine Sadlowski, Lela Buchan, and Mabel Topping.

Gloria was a lifelong member St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was actively engaged in all facets of church life. In particular, the United Methodist Women.

Gloria leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, Glenn Edward Hemmerle and wife, Louise, of Wilton, CT. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sean Patrick Hemmerle, Edward Purcell Hemmerle, and Margaret Doyle Hemmerle.

A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
