Gloria Barnes

Gloria “Bumpie” Howard Barnes, 77, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024. She was born June 2, 1947 in Nash County to the late Melvin and Viola Bailey Howard. She loved going to the mountains, Pigeon Forge, TN, working around the house, collecting blue and white pottery, and bird figurines. Bumpie was known for being a diligent cleaner, loved her home, and cutting grass. She was also preceded in death by brother, Joe Howard.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Sidney Barnes; son, Allan Barnes (Suzi); brother, Pat Howard; step-grandchildren, Justin and Kendall Brown; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation with family and friends will be Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 9:00-9:45 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with a funeral service to be held at 10:00 am in the Chapel with Pastor Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
