Gladys Rhodes Poland

Mrs. Gladys Mae Rhodes Wood, 71, died Sunday, March 5, 1989.
Born March 1, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Ed Rhodes and Emma Pridgen Rhodes.
Surviving: husband, Oris Rodgers Wood; sons, Donnie Poland, Johnny Poland and J.T. Poland, all of Rocky Mount; daughter, Mrs. Shirley Sherin of Las Vegas, Nev.; brothers, Buck Rhodes of Wilson and Hubert Rhodes of Virginia; sisters, Mrs. Nan McCarter of Rocky Mount, Miss Annie Lee Rhodes, Mrs. Virginia Summerlin and Mrs. Mammie Crumpler, all of Wilson; 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home chapel, Rocky Mount, with the Rev. Terry Johnson and the Rev. J.E. Hamlett officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
