George Marshall Joyner

George Marshall Joyner, age 79, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018. Born in Nash County, NC on July 3, 1939, he was the son of the late George Arthur Joyner and Ila Mae Langston Joyner. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Loretta Winstead.

George was a member of Avalon Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him, but his loving spirit will never be forgotten as he was everything to his family.

George leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 34 years, Vessie Mae Joyner; daughters, Marsha Moore and husband, Terry, Ila Leigh Joyner, and Georgia Ann Joyner. He is also survived by grandchildren, Chasitty Joyner and George Aaron Joyner; great-grandson, Carter Ellis Rose; sisters, Delores Newcomb and Dorothy Joyner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 6:00 PM at Avalon Baptist Church, 3227 Old Battleboro Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27801 with Rev. Joe Price officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service.
