George Haywood Ricks

George Haywood Ricks, 66, died Saturday. He was a retired commercial driver, a Nash County native, and resided at 829 Evergreen Road.
He was the son of the late Theodore Tilton Ricks and Lillie Fawcett Ricks. He was a member of the Peoples Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Harriett Overton Ricks of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Wheeler of Raleigh; one step-son, Edward D. Coleson of Rocky Mount; three step-daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Jolly of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Vivian Morris of Portsmouth, Va., and Mrs. Marion Mead of Topeka, Kan.; one brother, Theodore Ricks of Rocky Mount; one sister, Mrs. Lillie Anna May of Red Oak; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 4 p.m. in the chapel at Gay-Yost Funeral Home by Rev. J.E. Hamlet and Rev. Tom Moore. Burial will be in the Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Friends may call at the home or the funeral home.
