George Ernest Tanner

George Ernest Tanner, 77, died Thursday. Funeral services were conducted at 4 pm today from Gay-Yost Funeral Home by Rev. Emanuel Pegram of Stony Creek Baptist Church. Burial was in Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Betsy Harris Tanner; two sons, Henry and Gray Tanner of Rocky Mount; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Nichols and Mrs. Margie Proctor of Rocky Mount; two brothers, Percy of Rocky Mount and Russell Tanner of Portsmouth, VA; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren
