Evelyn Jane Watson Kahn, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, June 7, 2024, at WakeMed Hospital. She left this earth peacefully, after a long struggle with a form of dementia.

Evelyn Jane was born on January 19, 1944, in Washington, NC. She earned an Associates degree from Hardbarger Jr. College and worked various secretarial jobs for the State of North Carolina and different churches. She also worked for Franklin County schools for a few years.

Evelyn loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them on the water, either the ocean, lake, or river, it did not matter. Anyone who knew her, knew that her husband, Harry Robert, was the love of her life. This past April, they celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Evelyn is survived by her spouse, Harry Kahn, daughters, Kathy Smith (Tony), Karen Lawson (Phillip), son, Bobby Kahn, honorary daughter, Gail Goswick (Wayne), grandchildren, Mckenzie Smith, Braeden Smith (Graysen), Kelsey Lawson Wilson (Cody), Logan Lawson, Heather Kahn Cahoon, Natalie Kahn Cahoon, Ben Whitaker, Hannah Goswick Neal (Alex), Whitney Goswick, Cassie Goswick, Sister, Nancy Watson Fox, and loving dog, Rambler.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dukie and Evelyn Watson, her brother, Bud Watson, her sister, Kathryn Watson Morton, and her daughter, Pamela Caroline Kahn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hephzibah Baptist Church. The family is using Flowers by Mike, in Wendell, for their arrangements. (919-365-4818)

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 12 pm, Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Hephzibah Baptist Church Chapel, 1794 Wendell Blvd., Wendell, NC 27591. Her husband, Dr. Harry R. Kahn, will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 11-11:45am at the church. The service will be live streamed on HBC Wendell YouTube Channel.

A committal service will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Rocky Mount Memorial Park – Chapel of Memories Mausoleum, 4454 Dortches Blvd., Rocky Mount, NC.
