Eugene B Edwards

Eugene Bannon Edwards, 84, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017. He was born in Nash County on January 25, 1933 to the late Albert and Gaynelle Edwards. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Marshall Edwards and a sister Lois Edwards Winstead. Eugene was a longtime member at Calvary Baptist Church and served as Sunday School teacher, deacon, usher and served on the bus ministry for many years. He was a great husband, Daddy and Poppy. He served in the Marines and was a truck mechanic for 40 years. Eugene loved to fish, garden and was an inventor. He was a wise, humble, soft spoken, patient and a loving man of God.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alice Faye Edwards; sons Greg Edwards(Cindy) and Tim Edwards(Beth); grandchildren Jessica Brondyke(Mikah), Allison, Luke and Sadie Edwards; great grandchildren Adelyn and Elliana Brondyke; sister-in-law Hilda Edwards; several nieces, nephews and friends.

The visitation will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with the service following at 2:30pm with Pastor Brandon Dees officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
