Ernest Yoder, 76, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001 at Nash General Hospital. He was born Aug. .27, 1925 in Middlebury, Indiana to the late Ollie V. and Opal Marie Brookins Yoder. He was the owner and operator of P&Y Mobile Home Sales for over 35 years. Ernie was the former mayor of Sharpsburg and past president and member of the Sharpsburg Exchange Club. He was a member of Elm City VFW Post No. 6651. Ernie attended Sharpsburg Baptist Church and had a passion for his family, fishing and the beach. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jay O. Yoder and a grandson, Preston Zane, Woodard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Molly Logan Yoder, three daughters, Gerry Yoder Biggs and husband Bill of Kitty Hawk; Debbie Yoder Woodard and husband Bobby of Rocky Mount; Susan Yoder Win-stead and husband Mike of Wilson; one brother, Ray Yoder of White Pigeon, Mi.; two sisters, Pauline Yoder Musser of Braden, Fla.; Bernice Yoder Maloy of Emerald Isle, N.C.; seven grandchildren and spouses, Brian Lamm, Kelly and Scott Lambroff, Stephen and Annette Lamm, Kirk Woodard and Molly Woodard, Patrick and Lynn Winstead, Emily Winstead, two great grandchildren, Dale Lamm and Anna Lamm.
Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 29, 2001 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to Sharpsburg Baptist Church, P.O.
