Edward "Eddie" Earle Coker

ROCKY MOUNT – Edward “Eddie” Earle Coker, age 61, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Born in Forsyth County, NC on February 4, 1961, he was the son of the late Theodore “Ted” Coker, Jr. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Percy Frazier.
Eddie was a longtime member of Arlington Baptist Church. He owned and operated Towel Town alongside his wife, Cindy for 32 years. He was better known as, “The Lamp Man” by many as he could fix anything. Eddie adored his two grandkids. He was a family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and mentor to many. He loved nothing better than spending time with his family and community.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 41 years Cindy F. Coker; his daughter, Christin Coker Brantley and her husband, Scott of Bailey; his son, Edward “Justin” Coker of Rocky Mount; his grandchildren, Sara Dawes and Wyatt Brantley; his mother, Alice Covington Coker of Whitakers; his brother, Lonnie Coker and his wife, Cindy of Roper, NC; his mother-in-law, Mae Frazier of Rocky Mount; and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Eddie’s life will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Mike Stamper officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
