Edith Elizabeth Landin

Edith “Elizabeth” Brake Landin, 94, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023. She was born August 16, 1928 in Edgecombe County to the late Willie and Mary Jane Hill Brake. She loved her family and her Lord. Edith was devoted housewife and mother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Sidney Landin; son, John Sidney Landin, Jr.; sisters, Lillie Mae Collie, Mary Lee Strickland, and Tibby Williams; brothers, John and Bill Brake; several nephews.

She leaves to cherish her memory, son, David Bruce Landin, Sr. and wife Cheryl Ann; brother, Percy Willard Brake; grandchild, David Bruce Landin, Jr. (Maggie); several nieces and nephews.

A visitation with family and friends will be Monday, June 12, 2023 from 1:00-1:45pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home with a funeral service to be held at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice Care for their dedication to grandma in the last months. Special thanks and family adoption to Thomas Shane Matthews and Frances Carol Matthews for their unwavering support and care to grandma and family.
