Rocky Mount – Earl Charles Peck, age 75, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026. Born in Danbury, CT on August 8, 1950, he was the son of the late Earl Howard Peck and Catherine “Kay” Skvorz Michael. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Kathryn Thomas; and his niece, Melony Righter.
Earl was proud of his military service as a machinist in the US Army and wore his collection of veteran hats. He adored his pets and called them his furry and feathered kids. His pups Sunny and Midnight provided him with unconditional love, remaining close until he was called to Heaven. Although shy and reserved, he enjoyed talking with neighbors and deeply appreciated their friendship. Earl fought his battle with Parkinson’s Disease for ten years.
Earl is survived by his wife of 33 years, Janice Kindel Peck; his niece, Sheri Bowman and husband, Matt, of Greensboro; his nephews, Michael Kindel IV of Antioch, TN, David Kindel and wife, Allyssa, of Durham, Stephen Lush, Jr. and wife, Kaitlyn, of Waterbury, CT, and Anthony Fusco and Shane Fusco.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Earl’s life will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service at Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
