Dorothy Joyce Rowe

Dorothy Joyce Thomas Rowe, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 25, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Jasper Lee Thomas and Nola Proctor Thomas.

On December 16, 1949, Joyce married the love of her life, Henry Plummer Rowe and shared sixty-three wonderful years together before his death in April 2013. She is survived by sons, Phil Rowe and wife, Tempie of Rocky Mount and Mike Rowe of the home; brothers, Ronald Thomas and wife, Linda of Elm City; Durwood Thomas and wife, Carolyn of Carolina Beach; and sister, Alice Oliver and husband, Preston of Charleston, S.C.

Joyce was a faithful member of Union Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She was employed in the Boys Department of Belk Tyler and Company for over thirty years and always displayed the true meaning of customer service.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 2 pm in the Rocky Mount Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home of Phil and Tempie Rowe.
