Dorothy B Mitchell

On Saturday, November 5th, 2018, Dorothy “Dot” Bazemore Mitchell, loving mother of two children and grandmother of five children, passed away at the age of 84. She was born May 8th, 1934 in Bertie County. She was the daughter of Gertrude Jones Bazemore and Clyde Bazemore, both deceased. Dot graduated from Lewiston-Woodville High school and attended East Carolina University. She retired from Centure Bank, where she spent 48 dedicated years of her career.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Jennifer Pleasants and husband Johnny Pleasants of Siler City, NC, her son Neal Mitchell and wife Renee Mitchell of Rocky Mount, NC, and her five grandchildren Meredith-Leigh, John, and Madison Pleasants and Christopher and Chelsea Mitchell. She was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph Neal Mitchell Jr., and sister, Margaret Harmon Holloman.

Dot left a meaningful influence on the lives of many. Her joyful presence, kindness, and resilient determination will not be forgotten.

Her funeral will take place at Englewood Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 6th with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. and a service beginning at 12:30 P.M. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
