Doris Jean Vaughan

Doris Jean Vaughan, 62, died Monday, December 30, 2002. She was born July 27, 1940 in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of the late Leonard and Florence Cook. Doris was a switchboard operator at Nash General Hospital.
She is survived by two daughter, Teresa Pilgreen and husband, William “Billy” of Rocky Mount; and Laura Vaughan of West Virginia; two sons, William Vaughan of Richmond ; and Richard Vaughan of Tarboro; three grandchildren, Autumn Pilgreen, Meredith Pilgreen of Rocky Mount and Courtney Vaughan of West Virginia; sister, Ida Cook of Lynchburg, Virginia. Doris was preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Marsh.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 pm Wednesday, January 1, 2003 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home and other times at the house. Arrangements by Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC.
