Donald U Daniels

ROCKY MOUNT – Donald U. Daniels, age 76, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2022. Born in Nash County, NC on July 22, 1946, he was the son of the late Eleanor Underwood “E.U.” Daniel and Thelma Marjorie Langston Daniel.

Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired with 40 plus years of dedicated service as a Service Manager with Don Bulluck Chevrolet in Rocky Mount. Donald was a longtime member of West Edgecombe Baptist Church and served in many capacities over the years such as Chairman of the Deacon Board, Sunday School Teacher, and various other committees. He loved the outdoors, was an avid golfer, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his adored four grandchildren, and eating his favorite food, hot dogs. Donald was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and will be missed by all who knew him.

Donald is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean Walters Daniels; his son, Greg Daniels and wife, Carin; his daughter, Dawn Daniels Trexler and husband, Daryl; his grandchildren, Abby and Ethan Trexler and Ansley and Addison Daniels; his brothers, Sherwood “Wayne” Daniel of Marysville, CA and Brian “Keith” Daniel and wife, Donna, of Titusville, FL; his sister, Dianne Daniel Barnhill and husband, John, of Rocky Mount; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Donald’s life will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Billy Webb officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
