Donald Lee Joyner, 86, passed away on February 23, 2023. He was born October 3, 1936 to the late Adolphus Lee and Lula Carter Joyner. He is preceded by his grandparents, John and Fannie Joyner and George and Delilah Carter; brother George “Pee Wee” Joyner.

Donald is survived by his wife, Beulah Peterson Joyner, sons, Terry Lee Joyner Sr., Kenneth Wade Joyner (Tammy), Donald Clark Joyner (Ellen), daughters, Sandra Joyner Clack (Robbie), Linda Joyner Snow, 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, brothers, John Richard Joyner, William Joyner (Liz), Bobby Joyner (Becky) and sisters, Margery Wester (Bernice), Delilah Smith and Judy Bunn (Mike).

Donald was a veteran of the USAF as a mechanic. After leaving the military he continued his career in metal fabrication in Rocky Mount. He later was a partner in Rocky Mount Overhead Door Company. Donald loved his family and friends. He was an active member of Rocky Mount Chapter of Goldwing Motorcycle Club (ZWings). He enjoyed cooking especially “his famous Brunswick Stew.” He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and making metal art.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Peterson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service and other times at the home of Margery and Bernice Wester at 637 Clayton Street, Rocky Mount NC.
Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
