Daniel Wayne Pierce

Daniel “Mug” Wayne Pierce, 68, passed away April 16, 2024 with his wife and family by his side. Born in Nash County on April 20, 1955. Son of the late James and Irene Pierce. He is also preceded in death by his brothers James Arthur and Paul Glenn Pierce; sister Ann Bradshaw, including extended family of half brothers and sisters.
Daniel leaves behind to cherish his memory, Betty Pierce, his wife of 24 years; daughter Malinda Stancil and husband Glen of Nashville; son Dustin Ellis and wife Sally of Rocky Mount; apple of his eye, grandson Oliver Ellis; brother Joe Pierce and wife Deborah of Battleboro; sister Bea Moore and husband Pop of Whitakers; numerous nieces and nephews.
Daniel was the owner and operator of Pierces Garage in Whitakers for 37 years where he had many loyal customers and many friends. Daniel enjoyed drag racing. Over the years he had his own drag cars that he enjoyed racing and working on. Daniel and Betty attended Castalia Church of God.

A visitation will be held 5:00pm-7:00pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral Home and other times at the home 4861 Dogwood Dr Battleboro, NC 27809. The service will be held at 2:00pm at the funeral home on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
