Cheryle Vick Traish

ROCKY MOUNT – Cheryle Vick Traish, age 56, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Born in Nash County, NC on September 15, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Ishmael Clayton and Jacqueline Brantley Vick.

Cheryle will be most remembered for her love of helping others. She received her Associates in Nursing from Nash Community College and continued her education at East Carolina University earning her Master’s Degree. For over 20 years following, Cheryle cared for many in the community at Nash General Hospital as an IV nurse. Later she returned to her roots at Nash Community College as a nursing instructor and then as the Director of Nursing. Her enjoyment of educating future nurses called for her to step aside as the Director and become the Assistant Director enabling her to return to the classroom. When not teaching, Cheryle was raising and enjoying her time with family and friends. A devoted wife and loving mother and friend, she will be forever missed but never forgotten.

Cheryle leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 27 years, Tarek Traish; daughters, Jackie Traish of New York, NY and Anisa Traish of St. Kitts, Carribean Islands. She is also survived by her brother, Tim Vick and her sister-in-law, Lisa Sturges, of Rock Hill, SC; nieces and nephews, Amanda Ramsey, Matthew Vick, Kimberly Vick, Tina Traish, and Naget Traish; and her great-nieces, Autumn and Lizzie.

A Eulogy Service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 12 Noon to 1:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief.
