Carolyn Hamons Taylor, age 84, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021. Born in Milan, Ohio on July 16, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Arnold Hamons and Lena Lykins Hamons. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Beauregard Taylor, Jr.

Carolyn was known for being a happy person, who never met a stranger. She was one of 12 children. Carolyn loved the Lord and her church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She touched the lives of so many people and will always be remembered with love and kindness.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Joseph B. Taylor III of Wilson; her grandchildren, Joshua Luke Taylor, and Joseph Seth Taylor and wife Nikki; her great-grandchildren, Darby, Xander, Jaxon, Taylin, and Milly; her sisters, Mary Sallee and husband Kelly of Ohio, Shirley Knoll and husband Edward of Ohio, Ina Miller and husband Chilt of Ohio, and Norma Woessner of Florida; her brother, Larry Hamons and wife Diane of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Lou Spell officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 11:45 AM to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the Johnson Funeral Home.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.
