Betty Ruth Dales

Betty Ruth Coley Dales, daughter of the late Bobby Lee Coley and Maynor Silver Coley, was born January 31, 1931 in Warren County, North Carolina.  She departed this life on Friday December 9, 2016 when our Heavenly Father called home our beloved mother and grandmother; our dear sister, aunt, and friend.
Betty Ruth “Bet” grew up in Warren County, North Carolina and attended the Public Schools there. She joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and served as a mother of the church during the time of her husband’s tenure as a deacon.  Bet shared her husband’s passion for gardening and raised beautiful flowers, especially potted plants.  She loved to cook and shared her home-cooked meals with family and friends who visited her.
Bet was united in holy matrimony to Dewey Dales and celebrated sixty-six years of marriage at the time of Dewey’s passing in 2015.  This union was blessed with four children.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Bobby Earl Dales (Lorraine) of Rocky Mount, NC and James Edward Dales of the home; two daughters, Brenda Richardson of Rocky Mount, NC and Regina Battle (James) of Nashville, NC; four grandsons and four granddaughters; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Silver (Robert) and Shirley Richardson (Roy) both of Louisburg, NC; two brothers Duray Coley (Susie) and Vermus Coley (Carlean) both of Louisburg, NC;  two sisters-in-law,  Burtle Alston of Norfolk, VA and Bertha Taybron of Rocky Mount, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
