Barbara G. Odom

rbara Groves Odom, age 79, passed away on March 26, 2017, to go be with her Lord. Barbara was born in Magnolia, NC on January 29, 1938, to Mildred Groves Gupton and Horace Groves, who preceded her in death.

She lived all of her life in Rocky Mount, NC. She was a lifetime member of Edgemont Baptist Church, where she also served as Church Secretary for 35 years.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband to whom she was married for 61 years, William L. Odom, of the home, son, William L. Odom Jr. of Elm City, NC; daughter, Donna J. Odom, of Rocky Mount, NC; sister, Hilda Perry of Augusta, GA; nephew, Jim Perry, GA, Terry Dupree (Lawrence), GA, Leigh Culpepper, (AL) of GA. Special Cousins, Larry and Anita Odom, Rocky Mount, NC, C. B. and Vicki Lee Evans, New Bern, NC, Rhonda and Eddie Woltman Rocky Mount, NC and her life time special friend Gretchen Soden of Rocky Mount, NC as well as numerous cousins and friends whom she adored.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Edgemont Baptist Church with Rev. Thayer Stamper officiating.

Interment will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church.
