Allen Oquinn Harrelson, age 74, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020. Born in Columbus County, NC on October 30, 1945, he was the son of the late Acie Oquinn Harrelson and Pauline Phillips Harrelson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rose “Marie” McNeely Harrelson; and his sisters, Alice Harrelson Britt and Jenellia Harrelson Lewis.

Allen retired from CSX Railroad as a yard master with over 25 years of dedicated service. He loved to travel and had traveled to 48 states. Allen was a member of Avalon Baptist Church and also the Gideons. Allen was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him, but his loving spirit will never be forgotten as he was everything to his family.

Allen is survived by his children, Pamela Wood of Tarboro, Penny Walston and husband, Randy, of Pinetops, Cathy Parham and husband, Zack, of Apex, Carson “Eugene” Weaver, Jr. and wife, Joy, of Battleboro; his grandchildren, Amber Smith, Nikki Taylor, Adam Smith, Lauren Brooke Weaver, Jacob Eugene Weaver, Brian Register, Chris Register; his great-grandchildren, Bentley and Brayden King; and his sisters, Janice Harrelson Roebuck of Rocky Mount and Geraldine Harrelson Scott of Pinetops; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Joe Price officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
