Alicia Danielle Poarch
November 8, 1982 ~ October 10, 2020
Alicia Danielle Poarch was the second daughter born to Calvin A. Poarch and Sharon Locus Poarch on November 8, 1982, in Ilion, New York.
Surrounded by her family, she transitioned from this life to be with her Heavenly Father, on October 10, 2020.
Alicia grew up in North Augusta, South Carolina where she attended Living Word Christian Center and began her life in Christ and servanthood. In high school she enjoyed drama, band, and NJROTC. After high school she attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and Macon State College. Her studies were in Human Services and in all her activities, she always formed lifelong friendships. While in college, Alicia attended Christ Temple Church in Macon, Georgia.
After relocating to San Antonio, Texas, Alicia found ways to become more engaged in community service. Alicia’s public service included serving in local food banks, working with the Boys and Girls Club of America, and as an advocate in The Children’s Tumor Foundation (www.ctf.org). Alicia was a member of Mission Point Christian Church where she served in the children’s ministry, single’s ministry, and women’s ministry. Over the years, Alicia enjoyed reading, watching old sitcoms, fellowshipping with family, friends, and Sunday family dinners, but Alicia’s greatest joy in life was becoming a mother.
Alicia was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Howard and Joynette Poarch.
Alicia is survived by her daughter, Alexia Dana Joy Poarch; parents, Sharon Locus Poarch and Calvin A. Poarch; two sisters, Adrienne Grant (Lucas) and Antonia Poarch; maternal grandparents, Reverend and Mrs. Curtis Locus; uncle, Reverend Jeffery Locus (Gillian); three nieces, Jasmine, Jordyn, and Jayda Grant; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
