Addie "Ruth" Pollard Joyner

Addie Ruth Joyner, age 77, passed away peacefully at home Friday morning, March 20, 2020.

Ruth was born May 17, 1942 in Nash County to Lonnie and Ruth Pollard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Gerome Joyner and their infant daughter, Baby Girl Joyner. She leaves a lifetime of cherished memories for her daughter, Phyllis Jeffries (Wes); granddaughter, Tiffany Frazier (Michael); great-granddaughters, Hannah and Haley Frazier; sisters, Dettie Sue Proctor (James) and Virginia Page (Thomas); brothers, Walter Edward Parrish (Charlotte) and Lonnie Woodrow Pollard, Jr.; sister-in-law, Becky White; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Ruth was a godly lady and was devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a long-time member of Barnes Hill FWBC and served her church faithfully for many years.

A graveside celebration of Ruth’s life will take place at 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Blvd., Rocky Mount. The family will greet friends immediately following the service and other times at the home.
