Mr. Gary William Looker

ROCKY MOUNT – Gary William Looker, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.  Born in Franklin County, OH on October 25, 1940, he was the son of the late Nathaniel Looker and Lalah Murphy Looker.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Looker; his second wife, Carolyn Looker; his daughter, Amy Runyon; and his brother, Jim Looker.

Above all else, Gary wanted others to know that he loved Jesus. His life and faith were grounded in the words of the apostle Paul: “For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21, CSB).

Gary is survived by the mother of his children, Stephanie Olinger; his daughter, Lorre Locklear (Gary); his sons, Kevin Looker (Miriam Chon) and Mark Looker, (Rachelle Jacques); his grandchildren, Joshua Hedrick (Brooke), Alexyss Joyner (Ryan), Maya Looker, Owen Looker, and Julia Looker; his great-grandchildren, Scout Hedrick, Jude Hedrick, Ivy, Hedrick, and Quinn Joyner; and his niece and nephew.

A Private Family Graveside Service to celebrate Gary’s life will be held at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Kitty Askins Hospice Center and UNC Health Nash for their love and care.
