Mr. Willard ''Fuzzy'' Bryant

Rocky Mount – Willard “Fuzzy” Bryant, age 84, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026.  Born in Nash County, NC on January 19, 1942, he was the son of the late Howard Taft Bryant and Mary Hathaway Bryant.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dwight “Tom” Bryant; his sisters, Doris Bryant Medlin, Shirley Lee Bryant, and Doodle Barnes; and his beloved and faithful companion Munchkin.

Blessed with a friendly, open, and giving personality, Willard was known to have never met a stranger.  He served 7 years in the North Carolina Army National Guard and retired after 40 years with BarcaLounger.  Outside of work, Willard loved spending time with his family and friends, especially when it came time for daily fellowship with his friends at Golden Corral and doing his best to give his faithful friend Mary a difficult time when it came to his order.  A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and good friend to many, Willard will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Willard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janice Flood Bryant; his son, Joseph Bryant (Sherri); his grandchildren, Andrew Bryant (Lauren); his great grandchildren, Addison Bryant and Sadie Bryant; his nieces, Judy Rowe, Mary “Punk” Wells, Tammy Medlin, and Jaime Rowe; his great nieces and nephew, Kristen Davidson, Jessica Jones, Kayra Rowe, Jace Rowe, and Justin Benton; and many other extended family members and good friends.

A Graveside Service to celebrate Willard’s life will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the service at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
