Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Edward H. Hunt Jr.; her parents; and her sister, Beverly Ann Kane. She is survived by her son, Edward H. Hunt IV, of Hobgood, NC; her daughter, Virginia Dare Morris and husband Jason, of West Virginia; her grandsons, Cody Hunt and Nicholas Hunt; her granddaughters, Marissa Morris, Karlyn Morris, and Ava Jane Morris; her sister, Jane Carolyn Haney, of western North Carolina; and several cherished nieces and nephews.

In her later years, Nancy endured significant health challenges with extraordinary courage and determination. She recovered from a collapsed lung and pneumonia before later suffering a massive stroke that left her paralyzed. She also battled cancer, emphysema, and COPD. Through every trial, Nancy remained steadfast in her faith, finding strength in the Lord and comfort in the love of her family.
Nancy was a faithful member of Hobgood Baptist Church. She treasured her relationship with the Lord, devoted herself to her family, and found great joy in saltwater fishing, gardening, and the simple pleasures of life. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, with Pastor Ray Price officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hobgood Baptist Church, P.O. Box 36, Hobgood, NC 27843.
Nancy’s quiet strength, enduring faith, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always. Her legacy lives on in those who were blessed to know and love her.
