Mrs. Dorothy Harris Williams

Dorothy Harris Williams, age 97, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday morning, April 17, 2026. Her journey began in Edgecombe County on April 2, 1929. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip B. Williams; son-in-law, Phillip D. Skinner; half-sister, Bernice Perry Pridgen and half-brothers, James M. Perry and Robert Floyd Perry, Jr.

She leaves a lifetime of treasured memories for her daughters, Phyllis W. Rhea (Jimmie) of Rocky Mount, Brenda W. Skinner of Elm City and Susan W. Janko (Mike) of Shallotte and half-brother, Bill Harris of Louisburg.

Dorothy was especially proud to be a grandmother to Jeffrey Rhea (Lindsey), Krystle Wordsworth (Tim Gibbons) and Cody Skinner and great-grandmother to Sarah, Makayla and Logan Skinner, Saylor Poston, and Faith, Timothy and Andrew Rhea.

A service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Dortches Baptist Church, 4776 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. Interment will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00am in the Fellowship Hall.
