Mrs. Sylvia Daughtridge

Sylvia Smith Daughtridge, beloved mother to her only son, of Rocky Mount NC peacefully

passed away on Sunday March, 1St 2026, leaving a void her family cannot fill.

She was born in Pike County, Ky on March 27, 1947 to Roosevelt and Vada Smith.

Sylvia graduated from Belfry High School before going to work with the phone company.

Sylvia was a devoted mother to Michael, her pride and joy. She always said his birth changed

her life for the better, and he felt the love and support she provided.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Daughtridge, parents Roosevelt and Vada

Smith, three brothers Hiram Smith Jr., Charles Smith, and Ernie Smith; five sisters Emogene

Morrison, Elene Chapman, Shirley Smith, Pauline Jones and Patrica Rigby.

Sylvia was survived by her son Michael and her favorite daughter-in-law DeAnne, sister Charlene Hatfield of

Roanoke VA, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held on March 6, 2026 at 3:00pm at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
