Allen Keith Vernon, 66, of Rocky Mount, known as K-Boy, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on February 8, 2026. He was born on November 1, 1959. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Vernon, his sister Gail Parker, and brother-in-laws Robert Poythress and Richard Gregory.
Keith was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was centered around family, hard work, and faithfulness to those he loved. He was married to the love of his life, Patricia Vernon, for 45 wonderful years. Together, they built a strong family rooted in love, loyalty, and shared memories.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Vernon; his children, Crystal Fly (Luke), Wendy Vernon, and Blake Vernon (Brittany); and his cherished grandchildren, Parker Rooks, Taylor Rooks, Ryleigh Fly, Kelsey Vernon, Haven Vernon, Noah Vernon, Brayden Clark, and Madison Vernon. He also leaves behind one beloved great-grandchild, Eli Frink. Keith is further survived by his mother, Nellie Vernon, sisters, Melisa Poythress, Michelle Weatherspoon, Debbie Sherrod, & Pam Griffin, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Keith was a longtime business owner in Rocky Mount, where he proudly owned and operated K-Boy Motor Sales for 30 years. Known for his strong work ethic, honesty, and dedication, he built not only a successful business but lasting relationships throughout the community. He was respected by customers and friends alike for his integrity, generosity, and willingness to help others.
Above all, Keith will be remembered for his kind heart, his steady presence, his sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he cherished so dearly.
A service to celebrate Keith’s life will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, with Pastor Lin Robinson officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30-1:45 p.m., with the service in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m.
