Mrs. Joyce Waters

Joyce Winstead Waters, 74, of Raleigh, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Joyce was born on October 22, 1950, in Nash County, North Carolina, to the late Joseph Winstead and Nolia W. Davis. She was a graduate of Northern Nash High School.

In addition to her parents and brother, Joseph Douglas, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George Maynard Waters.

Joyce is survived by her son Alan G. Waters and wife Chrissy, granddaughter Abigail Waters, and grandson Dylan Waters of Garner, NC.

Joyce retired after 40 years of service from North Carolina Joint Underwriting Association. She enjoyed working in the yard with her flowers, baking, sewing and spending time with friends and family. She was a faithful member of St. Mark’s UMC for 50 years.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 4801 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held the same day at 2pm at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
