Sonya Long Winstead

Sonya Long Winstead, age 83, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Born in Nash County, NC on January 15, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Jack Jefferson Long and Mary Ellen Nelms Long. She was also preceded in death by her son, Thomas Dean Winstead, her brother, John Long; and her daughter-in-law, Kim Adams Winstead.

Sonya is survived by her sons, Kevin Winstead and wife, Debi, of Afton, VA, James Curtis Winstead of Rocky Mount, John Winstead and wife, Francine, of Greenville; her grandchildren, Jason Winstead, Laura Casimbon, Ashley Haase, Emma Winstead, Jane Winstead; and her great-grandchildren, Gavin and Avery Winstead, Mark, Gabe, Jonah, Layla, and Raina Casimbon, Harper and Cadence Haase, and Jade Mosley.

A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
