Roy Columbus Winstead

Roy Columbus Winstead, 57, an employe Of Planters Industries, died Friday in a local hospital.
A native of Nash County, he was son of the late William C. and Linde Joyner Winstead and made his home at 1412 Wilson Rd. He was a member of the Sandy Cross Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. E. L. Newton will officiate and burial will follow in Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna Suits Winstead; one son, Robert O. Winstead of Knightdale; one daughter, Miss Mary Helen Winstead of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Stalling of Elm City and Mrs. Lena Strickland of Middlesex; three half-sisters, Mrs. Edna Jones and Mrs. Frances Joyner of Elm City and Mrs. Rachel Potts of Snow Hill; two half- brothers, Darcey and Rudolph Winstead of Elm City; one grandson.
Pallbearers will be Lancey Joyner, George Williams, Aaron Whitley, John Carroway, Henry Winstead, and Randolph Lewis.
