Clifton Winders

Clifton Winders, 66, died Sunday. Born in Duplin County, Dec. 5, 1925, he was the son of the late Georgia and Vennie Rogers Winders. He was a retired conductor from the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad; a member of the VFW, American Legion, Benvenue Ruritan Club, the South Rocky Mount Church of God; and a World War II Navy veteran.
Survivng: wife, Lucille H. Winders of the home; four daughters, Judy Batten of Knoxville, Tenn., Vivian Turner of Hampton, Va., Sue Ayscue and Louette Boykin, both of Rocky Mount; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Janice Brewer of Clay City, Ky.
Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday, Johnson Funeral Home, Rocky Mount. Rev. Donald Wiggins, officiating. Burial, Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
Family at the funeral home, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday; other times at the home.
