MRS. RUBY THOMPSON WINDERS, 52, DIED LAST NIGHT IN A LOCAL HOSPITAL AFTER AN ECTENDED ILLNESS.
SHE WAS A LIFELONG RESIDENT OF ROCKY MOUNT, DAUGHTER OF THE LATE GEORGE THOMPSON AND RUBY WHEELER THOMPSON. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE MILL STREET PENTECOSTAL FREE WILL BAPTIST CHURCH.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE CONDUCTED TUESDAY AT 2 P.M. FROM THE CHAPEL OF GAY-YOST FUNERAL HOME BY HER PASTOR, THE REV. W.C. PITTMAN. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW IN ROCKY MOUNT MEMORIAL PARK.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND JAMES ALTON WINDERS OF THE HOME; FIVE SONS, JAMES ALTON WINDERS JR. OF MARION, OHIO, EARL EVERTT WINDERS OF LOUISVILLE, KY, HARRY WINDERS OF U.S. ARMY IN FORT CARSON, COLO. ALTON H. WINDERS OF CLARKSVILLE IND., AND HERMAN E. WINDERS OF SACRAMENTO, CA. TWO DAUGHTERS, MRS. RUBY NYOKA BASS OF ROCKY MOUNT AND MRS. DORTHY HUFFMAN OF HAMPTON, VA. FOUR BROTHERS, MACON, TOMMY AND CHARLIE THOMPSON, ALL OF ROCKY MOUNT, AND PETE THOMPSON OF WILSON; TWO SISTERS, MRS. RYLAND PIERCE AND MRS. NORA LUTHER OF ROCKY MOUNT; 21 GRANDCHILDREN.
