James “Brian” Williams, Sr., age 61, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 25, 2024. He was born on April 15, 1963 in Edgecombe County to Luby and Lois Williams. He was preceded in death by his father, Luby Brian Williams; uncle, James Smith; niece, Danielle Carpenter and sister-in-law, Cathy Sweat.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie “DeeDee” Williams; children, James Williams, Jr. (Suzanne), Crystal Jones (Brandon) and Allen Jordan, all of Rocky Mount; mother, Lois Williams, also of Rocky Mount; sisters, Teresa Williams (Calvin) and Gwen Williams (Van); grandchildren, AJ Jordan (Serenity), Suzanne Jordan, Michael Jordan, Gracie Jones, Tate Jones and Kinsley Williams; great-grandchild, Oakley; brother-in-law, Steve Sweat and sister-in-law, Angie Carpenter. Brian will also be missed by his nephews, Timothy Williams (Amanda), Kevin Williams (Logan) and Dusty Carpenter; nieces, Caitlyn Clevenger (Nick), Jaida Stimpson, Christina Sweat and Jennifer Sweat; great-nieces and nephews, Levi, Hayes, Tommy, Hayden and Destinee; along with several aunts, uncles, and other extended relatives.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 6-8pm at Davis-Little Funerals, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 and other times at the home of Lois Williams. A service will be held on Friday, June 28 at 2:00pm, at Oakview Baptist Church, 2412 Arlington St. Rocky Mount, NC. Interment will immediately follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
