uby Brian Williams, our beloved Legend, Husband, Father, Papa, Great-Papa, Great-Great Papa, Brother, Cousin and Friend, passed after an extended illness on May 29th, 2024, at his home at the age of 85. His journey began in Edgecombe County on November 17, 1938, to Luby and Myrtie Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie Lee, John Henry and James and sisters, Louise, Ruby, Mary, Doris and Bertie Ruth.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61+ years, Lois Williams; son, Brian Williams (DeeDee); daughters, Teresa Williams (Calvin) and Gwen Williams (Van); brother, Joe Williams (Cindy) and sister In-law, Earlene Williams. Luby was a proud Papa to Allen Jordan, James Williams (Suzanne), Timothy Williams (Amanda), Crystal Jones (Brandon), Kevin Williams (Logan), Caitlyn Clevenger (Nick) and Jaida Stimpson and Great-Papa to AJ, Suzanne, Michael, Gracie, Tate, Kinsley, Levi, Allie, Oakley and Baby Williams (due in October). Luby will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his Oakview Baptist Church family.

Luby retired from CSX Railroad in 2001 after 30 years of dedicated service. He attended Oakview Baptist Church and was well known to many in his community. He was an honest, hard-working man who instilled those same values to his family. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with and creating memories with his family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 6-8pm at Davis-Little Funerals, LLC, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. A service will be held on Monday, June 3rd at 2:00 PM, at Oakview Baptist Church, 2412 Arlington St. Rocky Mount, NC with Pastor David Taylor officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make memorial donations in memory of Luby B. Williams to the Alzheimers Foundation of America or Oakview Baptist Church, 2412 Arlington Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27801.

The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to the Gentiva Hospice Group nurses, Angela, Denise, Britney, Zavia, Ashland, LaToshia and Amanda; special care giver, Allison and Chaplin, Brenda for their extraordinary care during his sickness. The family will be forever grateful for the kindness, dedication and support we have received during each and every visit.
