Roberta Waring

Roberta “Bobbie” Bostrom Waring, age 71, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023. Born in Miami Dade County, FL on November 13, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Robert James Bostrom and Patricia Louise Clarke Bostrom. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Kenneth “Ken” Edward Waring; her sister, Marguerite Rutherford; her brother, Karl Tozzi.

Bobbie retired after 30 years as a Dental Assistant, during which she worked for many years with VA Affairs Administration. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she served as a member of the With God We Can! ministry and made gift bags to welcome guest attending church. Blessed with a contagious smile and outgoing personality, she loved spending time with her family and close friends and would never pass an opportunity to go out shopping. Bobbie’s favorite pastime was crossword puzzles and word searches, she also enjoyed laughing and watching TV, especially animal shows. She touched the lives of so many people and never met a stranger. Bobbie will always be remembered with love and kindness. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and will be missed by all who knew her.

Bobbie is survived by her daughter, Melanie Waring of Nashville; her sons, Jason Waring, Sr. of Nashville and Patrick Duggan and wife, Lynda, of Nolensville, TN; her grandchildren, Jason Waring, Jr., Jay’ Kobe Waring, Kristen Pridgen, Shazel Waring, Kenidrin Waring, Makhii Waring, Ethan Duggan, Evan Duggan, and Samuel Duggan; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Bobbie’s life will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 433 S. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Rev. Alice Johnson-Curl officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM prior to the Celebration of Life service in the Sanctuary of Trinity Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bobbie’s memory to Trinity Lutheran Church, 433 S. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
